Why I’m Starting My Blog Again in 2026

It’s been nearly six years since I’ve posted anything here. Six years. That’s a long time to stay quiet.

When I started this blog back in 2019, I had all sorts of reasons: to document my personal growth, to share what I was learning, to maybe even help someone else along the way. I wrote about goals, values, finding faith, and figuring out life. And then… I just stopped.

What Changed?

Life got busy. I got remarried. Became a stepfather to two more kids. Changed jobs. Moved across the country. The usual chaos of building a blended family took priority over everything else—and honestly, it should have.

But now I’m settled. Lynette and I have found our rhythm. The kids are growing up. And I’ve got things to say again.

Why Now?

There’s something about getting older that makes you want to share what you’ve learned. Not because you’ve figured it all out—far from it—but because the lessons hit different when you’ve lived them a few more times.

I’ve spent the last several years helping specialty contractors navigate technology transformations. I’ve watched companies succeed and stumble. I’ve learned what actually works versus what just sounds good in a sales deck. There are stories worth telling there.

More importantly, I’ve grown as a person. My faith has deepened. My perspective on what matters has shifted. And I’ve made enough mistakes—and occasionally gotten things right—that maybe writing about it could help someone else avoid a few potholes.

What to Expect

This isn’t going to be a work blog (though work stuff might creep in). It’s not going to be a dad blog (though the kids will definitely show up). It’s just going to be… me. Writing about whatever’s on my mind.

Faith. Family. Technology. Sales. Life in Austin. Random thoughts at 2 AM. Whatever feels worth sharing.

The goal isn’t to build an audience or become an influencer or any of that. The goal is the same as it was in 2019: to think out loud, document the journey, and maybe connect with a few people along the way.

So here we go again. Let’s see where this takes us.
